Olivia Del Rio’s route from a Paris maid’s job to her first scene
Olivia Del Rio was born in Rio Casca and grew up in Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerais, one of sixteen children and the twelfth in the family. She holds both Brazilian and French citizenship, is married and has two daughters, and now lives in Los Angeles.
She entered the industry after moving to France, where she worked as a maid for a well-known French adult director in a suburb of Paris, having just landed from Rio and needing a job. After several months, the director, Patrice Cabanel, asked her to do a scene with him; having already seen scenes filmed at his house and finding it paid better than her wages as a maid, she agreed. At the time she believed it was a one-off, not realising it was the beginning of her career. Early on she did not perform anal scenes, but in the years that followed she became a specialist in anal sex and double penetration.
What Olivia Del Rio has said about orgasms, interruptions and an overlooked crew
Olivia Del Rio has described herself as multi-orgasmic, usually reaching climax quickly during scenes, though some directors who keep stopping to adjust lighting or positions make it harder. She has also said it is a shame awards do not recognise the crew, the camera operators, gaffers, assistants, production managers and make-up artists; they work hard and barely get time for a cigarette.
Away from set, she has said she still wants sex with her husband once she gets home, and that sex in private, away from any set, suits her best because she isn’t limited to what’s usually done in a scene. She and her husband also visit swingers clubs together and meet strangers there.
A Hot d’Or win in 1997 and an AVN Hall of Fame place in 2025
She won Best European Supporting Actress at the Hot d’Or in 1997 and was named Best Actress for “Apasionadas y Coquetas” at the FICEB in 2002. In 2004 she was nominated for Female Performer of the Year at the AVN Awards, alongside nominations for Best Solo Sex Scene in “Lost Angels” and Most Outrageous Sex Scene for “Beauty Mates with Beast/Flesh Circus”; the following year she was nominated for Best Group Sex Scene, Film for “Does Dallas: The Revenge”. In 2025 she entered the AVN Hall of Fame, Video Branch, at the 42nd AVN Awards Show.
A retirement, a return three decades later, and new scenes in 2026
Her performing career ran from 1994 to 2009. She retired at one point in order to have her daughter, and, in March 2024, exactly thirty years after she started, announced her return to the industry; that September she was named among the official hosts of the Heaven & Hell Halloween industry party in Hollywood.
She returned to sets for Dorcel’s “PL4Y Vol. 2” in January 2026, directed by Franck Vicomte, in a film built around a series of chance encounters and rediscovered desires. In June, DP Diva featured her in a comeback scene alongside Milan Ponjevic and Donny Sins, described as her return from a long hiatus; she said she loved working with the director, found him precise about what he wanted, and called her co-stars good looking, respectful and part of a fantastic team. In August she appeared in the fifth volume of Dorcel’s “M.I.L.F.S.”, again directed by Franck Vicomte and headlined by Shalina Devine.
